The Ooni of Ife has described Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, as one of the few remaining pillars of wisdom and moral leadership in Nigeria as he marks his 100th birthday.
In a statement from the Ooni’s palace, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi said Fasoranti’s life reflects a century of sacrifice, integrity, and service to humanity and national development.
The monarch praised the elder statesman’s consistency on issues affecting the Yoruba people and Nigeria, describing him as a fearless patriot who has long placed service above personal interest.
He also urged younger Nigerians to emulate Fasoranti’s values of honesty, discipline, patriotism, and selfless leadership.
