Emergency responders in Lagos State have successfully extinguished a gas pipeline fire along Agege Motor Road, Ile Zik inward Agege, with no casualties recorded.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says the incident involved a pipeline belonging to NNPC Limited and was reported through emergency hotlines in the early hours of Monday.
According to LASEMA, its response teams, alongside the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, quickly contained the fire after arriving at the scene, while safety measures and evacuations were carried out.
Authorities say investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing, while efforts are also underway with NNPC Limited to secure and assess the affected pipeline.
