The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State says 11 people have died in a lone accident on the Eruku Bridge along the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway.
According to FRSC, the crash involved a Toyota vehicle that reportedly somersaulted and fell off the bridge on Sunday night, trapping all occupants inside.
Officials say FRSC rescue teams, with support from community members, recovered the bodies of 10 adult males and one adult female. The remains have been deposited at a hospital morgue in Ifo.
Authorities say the cause of the crash is suspected to be driving under the influence and overloading, while motorists are being advised to exercise caution, especially during night travel.
