From floods to poor sanitation, schoolchildren in Katsina say learning is now a daily risk.
Children from the Child Rights Advocacy Club in Mashi LGA have called on authorities to urgently address worsening climate and environmental conditions affecting their safety and education.
During an advocacy visit, the children warned that flooding, poor sanitation, and unsafe school environments are threatening their health and learning.
They demanded clean water supply, proper toilets, better waste management, improved drainage, and stronger school security.
The young advocates also pushed for tree planting and action against deforestation to reduce heat and climate risks.
Local authorities acknowledged the concerns, promising steps to improve school conditions and enforce environmental protections.
