SENATE, HOUSE COMMITTEES SEND MINISTER BACK FOR DOCUMENTS

The joint Senate and House Committees on Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy asked Minister Hannatu Musawa to return on Oct. 27 after she showed up unprepared without the needed 2025 budget performance documents. Despite two months’ notice, the ministry failed to provide essential papers, forcing the committee to adjourn.

Lawmakers stressed the importance of proper documentation for meaningful oversight. Efforts by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary to continue without the documents were rejected. The committees want full info to properly assess the ministry’s work before moving forward.
