INEC STAFF PRAISE YAKUBU, DENY ‘FUNERAL SONG’ CLAIMS

Oyekanmi, former press secretary to ex-INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, says staff sang farewell praises not funeral songs as Yakubu left office. He slammed media reports, especially from Sahara Reporters, calling them false and defamatory. Staff openly admired Yakubu’s decade of reforms, promotions, and capacity-building at INEC. Yakubu bowed out to allow a smooth transition, handing over to acting Chair May Agbamuche-Mbu, who praised his record. Yakubu also received an Excellence Service Delivery Award during INEC’s Customer Service Week.
