Legal battle ends as MultiChoice and FCCPC resolve differences out of court.
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) withdrew criminal charges against MultiChoice Nigeria Limited and its top executives, including Chairman Adewunmi Ogunsanya and CEO John Ugbe, following an out-of-court settlement. The charges involved allegations of failing to comply with lawful summons and impeding investigation related to a controversial subscription price hike. FCCPC’s lawyer formally notified the Federal High Court, which struck out the case. The outcome ends months of legal wrangling, allowing the company to focus on its operations.
