Responsible AI use urged to balance technology with human creativity and judgment.
Chukwuma Dike, Project Lead of Wikiactivate Africa, emphasized responsible AI use at the Wikimedia AI and Plagiarism Awareness training in Abuja. He warned against over-reliance, stating AI’s role is to assist, not take over human intellect. The training focused on using AI ethically in Wikipedia editing to prevent vandalism and plagiarism. Dike highlighted AI’s value in grammar correction and translation but stressed creativity and decision-making remain human domains. The session encouraged parents and teachers to guide youth on AI use and promoted AI as a tool to enhance not hinder intellectual growth.
