Turji’s talking peace, but Sokoto wants action — no more talk, just walk the walk!
The Sokoto State Government isn’t buying just words from bandit leader Bello Turji. After a viral audio where Turji hinted at peace talks and urged fellow bandits to join in, Sokoto’s Special Adviser, Retired Col. Ahmed Usman, fired back with a simple message: “Show us the hostages, stop the attacks, or don’t bother.”
Usman made it crystal clear — peace isn’t just about chatting; it’s about releasing kidnapped victims and ending violence in Sokoto’s rural areas. The government is ready to back any credible peace move but warns that criminal behaviour won’t be tolerated.
Community leaders and civil society are also called to rally for peace, while Turji and his gang get one shot to prove they mean it.
