POLICE FREE 35 KIDNAP VICTIMS IN NIGER STATE IN DRAMATIC RESCUE
In a major win against bandits, Niger State Police rescued 35 kidnapped victims—including women and children—between July 3 and 5, 2025. The victims were intercepted while being moved across the state toward Yauri in Kebbi, with key arrests made during the operation. Police tactical teams stopped a vehicle on the Madaka-Makujeri road, arresting the driver who was ferrying 24 captives to other gang members. Another group of 11 victims was also intercepted crossing into Yauri. All rescued individuals received medical care and have been reunited with their families. The police continue investigations to free more captives and apprehend fleeing suspects. Commissioner of Police Adamu Elleman praised the joint security forces and called on the public to provide tips to aid ongoing efforts.
