PLATEAU GOVT RELAXES JOS NORTH CURFEW TO 6AM–6PM

Improved security in Jos North brings longer movement hours, but residents are urged to stay vigilant and cooperate with authorities.

The Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew in Jos North LGA 8.

Joyce Ramnap, Commissioner for Information and Communications, said the decision follows improved security after a gunmen attack on Angwan Rukuba community, which initially prompted a 48-hour curfew. The curfew had earlier been relaxed to 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Ramnap urged residents to take advantage of the extended hours responsibly, carry out lawful duties, and remain indoors during curfew periods. She also called on citizens to cooperate with security agencies and provide credible information to help maintain peace in the area.

The commissioner emphasized that Governor Caleb Mutfwang has directed security forces to strictly enforce the curfew and ensure compliance, even as the state moves toward normalcy.

This development comes as part of ongoing efforts by the government and security agencies to stabilize Jos North and rebuild confidence among residents after recent attacks. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to prevent further incidents.
