LAGOS PORTS TO RECEIVE 41 SHIPS WITH GOODS, PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

Busy week ahead for Lagos ports as vessels carrying food, fuel, and general cargo line up for berthing.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 41 ships are expected at Lagos ports between April 8 and April 14, carrying petroleum products, food items, and general cargo.

According to the NPA’s Daily Shipping Position, 24 vessels will transport containerized goods, while 17 ships will deliver bulk items including sugar, fresh fish, salt, gypsum, aviation fuel, diesel, naphtha, gasoline, gas oil, and wheat.

Currently, 16 ships and tankers are at the ports awaiting berthing. NPA noted that 21 vessels are discharging cargo at Lekki Deep Sea Port, Apapa, and Tincan Island Port, including urea, base oil, soya beans, gas, and fertiliser.

The authority emphasized continued coordination to ensure smooth operations and timely cargo handling amid the busy shipping schedule.
