Kaduna says development must not hurt citizens and backs it up with billions paid to communities affected by road construction.
The Kaduna State Government has disbursed ₦2.85 billion as compensation to residents impacted by ongoing road projects across the state.
The Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency, Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed, said the payments reflect Governor Uba Sani’s people-centred approach to infrastructure development.
Beneficiaries span five major projects, including the Rabah–Rigasa Train Station road in Mahuta community, Magajiya–Albarkawa and Audi–Kako roads in Zaria, the Dogon Bauchi–Kakiyeyi road linking Sabon Gari and Zaria, and the Kabala Costain–Aliyu Makama road.
Officials say the initiative shows a commitment to fairness, ensuring communities are supported while infrastructure projects move forward.
