HEAVY RAIN STALLS NYANYA–KEFFI EXPRESSWAY, CAUSES GRIDLOCK

Torrential downpour in Abuja wreaks havoc on the Nyanya–Keffi route, slowing traffic and testing drivers’ patience.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed major traffic congestion along the Kugbo–Nyanya axis in Abuja after heavy rainfall damaged parts of the newly built Kugbo Bus Terminal.

FRSC Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, said the incident led to blocked lanes and disrupted normal traffic flow, causing long delays, especially for vehicles entering the FCT. He warned motorists to drive cautiously, maintain safe distances, and obey traffic officers to avoid worsening the gridlock.

Personnel have been deployed to manage the situation, clear obstructions, and restore normal traffic flow. Authorities urged road users to stay patient, law-abiding, and safety-conscious as cleanup efforts continue.
