ARMY DECORATES 5 NEW LT.-COLONELS, DEMANDS HIGHER STANDARDS

Promotion comes with pressure as the Nigerian Army urges newly elevated officers to lead with discipline and deliver stronger results.

Brig.-Gen. Ahmed Balogun, Commander of the 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, has decorated five newly promoted Lieutenant Colonels in Benin, charging them to justify their elevation through discipline, loyalty and improved service delivery.

According to the brigade’s PRO, Kennedy Anyanwu, the commander reminded the officers that promotion signals greater responsibility and expectations from the Army leadership.

Balogun urged the officers to lead by example, mentor junior personnel and strengthen operational effectiveness, noting that their conduct will shape the Army’s performance and public image.

Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, David Omoregie pledged renewed commitment to tackling security challenges. Others decorated include Magnus Nwafor, Umaru Mohammed Tomsu, Monday Terkuma Nwali and Suleimam Kawu Alkali.

The commander also appreciated the role of families in supporting the officers’ careers.
