Lagos residents are being called on to manage waste responsibly as LAWMA ramps up operations for Easter.
The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has stepped up waste collection and monitoring across the state ahead of the Easter celebrations. Managing Director Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin urged residents to adopt proper disposal habits—separating recyclables, avoiding indiscriminate dumping, and reducing unnecessary waste—to keep the city clean and prevent flooding.
LAWMA has deployed personnel and equipment to key spots like markets, motor parks, and busy commercial areas, working alongside licensed private operators to ensure timely waste evacuation. Residents are encouraged to report issues via LAWMA’s customer care line (07080601020) or social media for prompt response.
Gbadegesin emphasized that maintaining a clean Lagos is a shared responsibility, requiring cooperation between the government, service providers, and the public, especially as the rainy season approaches.
