LAGOS TRAINS 1,000+ STUDENTS ON EMERGENCY HOTLINES

Students in Agege are learning how to save lives with just one call.

The Lagos State Government has trained over 1,000 students on how to properly use emergency toll-free lines 767 and 112 as part of efforts to boost public safety awareness.

The sensitisation programme, organised by the Lagos State Command and Control Centre, took place at State Junior High School, Oyewole in Agege. According to LSCCC spokesperson Yemisi Sule, the initiative is focused on building a culture of emergency preparedness among young residents.

Representing the General Manager of the centre, Adeyinka Adeeso emphasised that the training equips students with life-saving knowledge and encourages responsible use of emergency lines.

Students were taught how to stay calm, provide accurate location details and avoid prank calls that could delay urgent help. Educational materials were also distributed so they can share the knowledge with family and friends.

School principal Olabimpe Balogun praised the initiative, noting it will strengthen safety awareness, alongside existing safety equipment like fire extinguishers and sand buckets.
