WIKE CALLS PDP APPEAL “BASELESS,” CONVENTION TO GO AHEAD

Despite Turaki-led PDP’s Supreme Court appeal, the party’s national convention is full steam ahead, says FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the Tanimu Turaki-led PDP’s appeal of the Court of Appeal ruling on the party’s leadership, calling it “baseless” and insisting it won’t disrupt the national convention scheduled for March 29–30 at Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

Wike said internal grievances are normal in any large party but emphasized that the PDP is presenting a unified front, with zoning arrangements in place — the presidency to the South and chairmanship to the North.

He also confirmed that convention preparations are about 95% complete, including seating and VIP arrangements, and expressed confidence that the PDP will showcase its strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
