Students told to stay alert as curfew hits Jos North following Sunday night violence.
The University of Jos has postponed exams scheduled for Monday and Tuesday after the deadly attack on Angwan Rukuba sparked tension across the area.
In a statement, Deputy Registrar Emmanuel Madugu said the decision is part of wider safety measures, including the suspension of academic activities and closure of hostels.
He explained that the Vice-Chancellor ordered the rescheduling to protect students following the Sunday night shooting by gunmen. Students and staff were urged to stay vigilant, avoid unnecessary movement, and report any security threats to the university’s security unit.
Meanwhile, the Plateau State Government has imposed a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area.
State Information Commissioner Joyce Ramnap confirmed the move, after gunmen on motorcycles reportedly killed several youths in the area.
