SINNER MAKES HISTORY WITH SUNSHINE DOUBLE MASTERCLASS IN MIAMI

Red-hot Jannik Sinner sweeps Miami in style, wins back-to-back Masters titles without dropping a single set.

World No. 2 Jannik Sinner delivered another statement performance, defeating Jiří Lehečka 6-4, 6-4 to lift the Miami Open title and complete the coveted Sunshine Double.

Coming off his triumph at the Indian Wells Masters earlier this month, Sinner powered through Miami without dropping a set — a rare and remarkable feat. The victory makes him just the eighth man in history to sweep Indian Wells and Miami in the same season.

Lehecka entered his first Masters 1000 final in red-hot serving form, having not been broken en route to the title match. But Sinner wasted no time disrupting that rhythm, grabbing an early break and controlling rallies with his trademark baseline aggression. Even rain delays couldn’t cool his focus.

With the win, Sinner has now claimed 34 consecutive Masters sets and becomes only the third man after Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal to win three straight Masters titles. Remarkably, he’s the first to do so without dropping a set across all three tournaments.

For Lehecka, it was still a breakthrough campaign, highlighted by impressive wins over top contenders on his way to the final. But when the pressure peaked, Sinner’s powerful serve, sharp returns and calm composure proved decisive — just as they did in their previous clash at the French Open.

The victory marks a dramatic turnaround for the Italian, who earlier this season suffered a semi-final loss to Djokovic at the Australian Open and a setback against Jakub Mensik. Now, he has surged back into dominant form and sits roughly 1,500 points behind world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the ATP rankings race.

With Sinner and Alcaraz yet to face off this season, the rivalry tennis fans are waiting for is still brewing — and it promises fireworks.
