A tragic discovery at the University of Ibadan has triggered a full police investigation into a suspected murder.
Police in Oyo State have launched an investigation after the body of a teenage boy was found in the University of Ibadan swimming pool.
Authorities say the victim, believed to be between 14 and 15 years old, was discovered floating in the pool early Thursday. Detectives who visited the scene reported blood from the nose and mouth, minor facial bruises, and blood stains within the pavilion area. Personal items believed to belong to the boy were also found nearby.
The body was taken to Adeoyo General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead and deposited at the mortuary.
Police say the case is being treated as a suspected murder and have urged the public to stay calm and avoid spreading unverified information while investigations continue.
