POLICE LAUNCH TRUST WEEK AHEAD OF NATIONAL POLICE DAY

From sanitation drives to walkathons and free medical outreach, the police are rolling out a full week of community-focused activities.

The Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos has announced a week-long programme to mark the 2026 National Police Day, running from March 30 to April 7.

The initiative, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” is aimed at strengthening ties between the police and the public across Lagos and Ogun states.

Activities kick off with environmental sanitation, followed by a medical outreach offering healthcare services to residents. A unity walkathon is also planned, alongside public awareness campaigns on electoral violence, ballot snatching and road safety.

The week will also honour fallen officers, with cheques presented to families of deceased personnel in recognition of their sacrifices.

The celebration will wrap up with a grand finale in Abuja featuring ceremonial parades and tactical displays.

Residents are being encouraged to participate and work closely with the police to promote safer communities.
