New partnership targets better storage, stronger markets and higher profits for thousands of farmers.
The Kwara State Government has teamed up with Olam Agri to tackle post-harvest losses and improve farmers’ earnings across the state.
Officials say poor storage remains a major challenge, so the partnership will focus on activating storage facilities to preserve crops, support aggregation and give farmers more flexibility to sell at better prices.
The initiative will roll out maize and soybean outgrower programmes, providing farmers with inputs, training on best practices and faster access to markets. It’s expected to benefit thousands of farmers across Kwara’s 16 LGAs.
The move is part of efforts to strengthen food security, boost rural development and deepen private-sector collaboration in agriculture.
