KWARA PDP RALLIES FOR ABUJA CONVENTION AHEAD OF 2027

Kwara PDP leaders are closing ranks and heading to Abuja—saying the upcoming national convention could shape the party’s path to the 2027 elections.

Leaders, elders and aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State have agreed to fully participate in the party’s national convention scheduled for March 29, 2026 in Abuja.

The decision followed an emergency meeting at the party secretariat in Ilorin, where stakeholders unanimously resolved that Kwara delegates must attend and actively take part in the convention despite a previous gathering held in Ibadan last year.

According to the communique, the outcome of the convention will guide the party’s next steps in the state. If the process is conducted legally and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), another stakeholders’ meeting will be held to review developments and recommend the PDP as the platform for the 2027 general elections.

Stakeholders reaffirmed confidence in the party’s grassroots strength across all 16 local government areas, describing the PDP as widely accepted and resilient despite national challenges.

They also praised party members for their loyalty and commitment as preparations intensify ahead of 2027.

Bottom line: Kwara PDP is gearing up for the national convention, positioning unity as a key strategy for the next election cycle.
