KIDNAPPERS DEMAND N1BN AFTER CHURCH ABDUCTION IN KWARA

Fear spreads in Kwara after gunmen storm a church service and demand a staggering N1 billion ransom for eight kidnapped worshippers.

Tension is rising in Kwara State after eight members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) were abducted during a service in Omugo community, Ifelodun LGA.

According to the church pastor, Rev. Omole Sunday Timothy, the kidnappers contacted church and community leaders and insisted the ransom must be contributed by all communities in the Oro-Ago area. Efforts to negotiate have so far failed.

The pastor revealed that offers far below the demand — including N1 million — were rejected, with the abductors warning against mentioning lower figures before cutting off communication.

He confirmed he briefly spoke with his wife, one of the victims, who said the captives are thirsty but mostly unharmed, except an elderly man reportedly hit on the head with a gun.

Residents are now calling on the Kwara State Government and security agencies to urgently intervene and secure the victims’ release as anxiety grows across the community.
