A quick flare-up over a nearby security operation sparked a short road blockade — but order was restored fast and exams never stopped.
Normal academic activities have resumed at Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, after a brief student protest temporarily disrupted movement along Old Jebba Road.
According to the school’s management, the unrest was triggered by concerns over security operatives carrying out official duties in nearby Agbede village. A small group of students reacted by burning tyres and blocking part of the road in the early hours of the day.
Security agencies and the school’s internal security team stepped in swiftly, bringing the situation under control without arrests or escalation.
The Polytechnic confirmed the campus and surrounding areas are now peaceful, the road has been cleared, and exams proceeded as scheduled with minimal disruption.
Management also praised students for remaining calm and reassured parents and residents that safety remains a top priority.
