From skill-building to global exposure, players say Nigeria’s women’s T20i tournament is a game-changer for cricket development.

Cricket stars are buzzing with excitement over the ongoing Nigeria Fifth Women’s Invitational T20i tournament, describing it as a powerful platform for growth, experience, and international exposure.

The competition, tagged the Patricia Kambarami Cup, is being held at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos, bringing together teams from different countries.

Nigeria’s captain Lucky Piety called the tournament “amazing,” saying it offers players a chance to learn, compete, and improve. She added that the team is aiming to win the trophy but remains cautious of tough competition.

South Africa’s Filander Jae-Leigh also praised the event, highlighting the rich experience of playing in Nigeria and embracing the culture, while staying focused on her team’s goal of finishing strong.

Zimbabwe’s Bethei Zinyama described the tournament as both fun and educational, noting that it provides valuable exposure and opportunities to sharpen skills.

The tournament, which started last Friday, will run until March 29, as teams battle for glory while building friendships and experience on and off the pitch.
