NO PVC, NO VOTE: INEC URGES ENUGU RESIDENTS TO ACT NOW

With 2027 elections on the horizon, INEC is calling on residents to pick up their PVCs and register early—before it’s too late.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged residents of Enugu State to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

Speaking in Enugu, Resident Electoral Commissioner Chukwuemeka Chukwu stressed that having a PVC is the only way to vote in the 2027 general elections.

“If you’ve registered before and haven’t collected your PVC, now is the time,” he said, adding that cards are available at ward centres and designated registration points.

INEC also called on newly eligible voters—especially those who just turned 18—to register, noting that the process is free and ongoing.

The commission explained that the current CVR phase runs until April 17, 2026, and includes fresh registration, data correction, and transfer for those who have relocated.

To ease access, INEC says it is rotating registration across all 260 wards in Enugu and deploying mobile teams to high-demand areas, while also ramping up voter awareness in markets, churches, and communities.

The message is clear: register early, collect your PVC, and be ready to decide your leaders.
