Fresh talent enters Nigeria’s healthcare system as 53 KWASU graduates earn their licence to practice—ready to make impact where it matters most.
Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has added 53 newly qualified medical laboratory scientists to Nigeria’s health workforce after their official induction into the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
The induction, held during the university’s 7th oath-taking ceremony, means the graduates are now fully licensed—having completed their internship and NYSC requirements.
Vice-Chancellor, Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described the inductees as well-trained professionals ready to strengthen healthcare delivery, highlighting the school’s strong focus on practical, hands-on training through the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital.
Representatives of the council also praised the university’s standards, noting that the collaboration between KWASU and regulators is helping produce competent, industry-ready graduates.
Breakdown of results shows a solid academic performance, with top honours across First Class, Second Class (Upper and Lower), and Third Class categories.
With their oath administered, the new scientists are now part of a growing pool of professionals expected to play key roles in diagnosis, research, and overall healthcare improvement in Nigeria.
