Wike TO FCT RESIDENTS: KEEP THE PEACE, UNITY BEYOND RAMADAN

As Eid celebrations roll in, the FCT Minister is urging Abuja residents to carry the spirit of Ramadan into everyday life—especially ahead of political activities.

The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has called on residents to sustain the values of peace, compassion, forgiveness, and unity learned during Ramadan.

In his Eid-el-Fitr message, Wike described Ramadan as a period of deep reflection and spiritual renewal, urging residents to continue living in harmony and to pray for Nigeria’s peace and progress.

He commended the show of kindness and coexistence among Muslims and non-Muslims across Abuja during the fasting period, noting it reflects the city’s identity as Nigeria’s centre of unity.

Wike also reassured residents of adequate security, saying agencies are working round the clock to ensure a peaceful celebration, while encouraging people to go about their activities without fear.

Looking ahead to the build-up to the 2027 general elections, he urged all residents—regardless of political or ethnic differences—to maintain peaceful conduct as campaigns begin nationwide.

The minister praised President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting its impact on security and development in the FCT.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to building a safe, peaceful, and world-class capital city.
