Residents of Ohatekwe Ukawu in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State are reeling after 20-year-old Damian Oforbuike was banished for allegedly murdering his mother, Onyemaechi, following a domestic dispute over the weekend.
According to locals, the argument escalated violently, with the suspect reportedly attacking his mother with a machete before fleeing into a nearby forest. Panic spread quickly, prompting a massive manhunt by over 200 youths in the community.
The local councillor, Maduabuchi Nweke, confirmed the dramatic capture, saying the suspect was tracked down and handed over to the police for investigation.
