As Muslims mark Eid-el-Fitr, the FCT Football Association has called for more love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence across communities in Nigeria.
The Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Football Association, Mouktar Mohammed, has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, urging them to sustain the lessons of Ramadan.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Mohammed said the festive period should go beyond celebration and serve as a reminder of values such as compassion, unity, sacrifice and gratitude.
He stressed that the discipline and patience learnt during Ramadan should guide citizens in building a more peaceful and just society.
According to him, Eid offers an opportunity for communities to strengthen bonds, show kindness to the less privileged, and renew commitment to faith and nation-building.
He also prayed for the acceptance of the sacrifices and supplications made during Ramadan, wishing Muslim faithful good health, happiness and lasting prosperity.
Mohammed further encouraged Nigerians to promote mutual respect, support the vulnerable, and embrace acts of charity as part of sustaining national harmony.
