DELTA POLICE NAB TEEN CULT SUSPECT, RECOVER GUN IN WARRI

Quick police response foils potential threat as teen suspect confesses to cult links.

Police in Delta State have arrested an 18-year-old suspected cultist in Warri, recovering a locally made firearm and live ammunition.

According to police spokesman SP Bright Edafe, the suspect was picked up by operatives of the Ekpan Division after acting suspiciously around Wangwe College.

Acting on credible intelligence, officers stormed the area and arrested the teen, recovering a cut-to-size single-barrel gun and two live cartridges.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to being a member of a cult group. He and the recovered weapons are now in police custody as investigations continue.

Authorities say the arrest underscores ongoing efforts to clamp down on cultism and criminal activity in the state.
