Amid renewed attacks, Borno’s governor sends a strong message—security will be intensified as residents celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has поздравulated Muslims on Eid-el-Fitr while reaffirming his administration’s determination to end insecurity in the state.
In his message, Zulum urged residents to carry forward the values of Ramadan—faith, charity, and unity—towards rebuilding a peaceful and prosperous Borno.
He revealed that over 300,000 vulnerable people across all 27 LGAs received food and essential support during Ramadan, describing the outreach as unprecedented.
However, the governor acknowledged recent attacks, including deadly bombings in Maiduguri, expressing deep sorrow over the lives lost and those injured.
Zulum commended the resilience of Borno residents and praised ongoing military operations in hotspots like Sambisa Forest, Mandara Mountains, and the Lake Chad region.
He also appreciated the Federal Government’s response, including the visit of Vice President Kashim Shettima and the deployment of security chiefs.
Reassuring citizens, Zulum pledged stronger collaboration with security agencies and volunteer forces to eliminate insurgency, while urging vigilance—especially avoiding unprotected crowded areas.
He added that Eid prayer grounds would be heavily secured to ensure a safe celebration.
