A routine patrol turns major—police intercept suspects, recover weapon and ammunition in coordinated operations.
The Enugu State Police Command has detained three suspects and recovered a firearm, ammunition, and a tricycle during coordinated crime-fighting operations.
According to police spokesperson SP Daniel Ndukwe, operatives first intercepted an unregistered tricycle along Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway, where a locally made double-barrel pistol was found on two suspects.
Later the same day in Orba, along Nsukka Road, officers stopped a motorcycle—one suspect fled, but the rider, a 17-year-old, was arrested with six rounds of 9mm live ammunition.
The teenager reportedly confessed to cult membership, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect and other accomplices.
Commissioner of Police Mamman Giwa praised officers for proactive policing and urged residents to support security efforts with credible information.
