EID-EL-FITR: FRSC BOSS URGES ROAD USERS TO STAY SAFE, PATIENT

As muslims celebrate Eid, the FRSC Corps Marshal is reminding Nigerians that safety, patience, and discipline should extend from Ramadan to the roads.

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan, urging Nigerians to maintain safety consciousness during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Mohammed praised the discipline, devotion, and spiritual commitment shown during the fasting period, calling on citizens to carry forward values like patience, love, and selflessness.

He stressed that these virtues are essential not just spiritually, but also for reducing road crashes across the country.

“Most road accidents are avoidable when road users act with patience and consideration,” he noted.

The FRSC boss urged motorists, pedestrians, and other road users to obey traffic rules, avoid reckless driving, and prioritise the safety of lives and property—especially during the busy festive period.

He also reassured Nigerians of the corps’ readiness to ensure safer roads through intensified patrols, strategic deployment, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders nationwide.

Mohammed encouraged the public to report emergencies via the FRSC toll-free line 122 and through the National Traffic Radio platform for prompt response.

He added that the Eid period should be a time to promote unity, national harmony, and collective responsibility in making Nigerian roads safer for all.
