NDARANI DECLARES FOR NIGER SOUTH SENATE, PROMISES PEOPLE-FOCUSED DEVELOPMENT AGENDA

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mohammed Ndarani, has entered the 2027 senatorial race, pledging a grassroots-driven agenda centred on jobs, infrastructure, and better living standards for Niger South.

Mr Mohammed Ndarani, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has officially declared his intention to contest the Niger South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC), promising a leadership style rooted in people-centred development.

Speaking at the APC state secretariat in Minna on Wednesday, Ndarani said his ambition is driven by a mission to promote economic growth, social welfare, and infrastructure renewal across the senatorial district and Niger State at large.

He described his aspiration as purposeful and “divinely inspired,” insisting that leadership should be about impact rather than position.

“Ocupying office is not the ultimate goal; building influence that benefits the people is,” he said, adding that his vision is to take the zone to a higher level of development.

He outlined key priority areas including education, healthcare, agriculture, security, youth and women empowerment, as well as economic expansion to improve livelihoods and strengthen local economies.

Ndarani also pledged to support Governor Mohammed Bago, noting that collaboration within the party is key to consolidating ongoing development efforts in the state.

“We are committed to complementing the governor’s vision for a greater Niger State,” he said.

He further urged party stakeholders to prioritise competence, accessibility, and compassion in selecting candidates ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that leaders must remain accountable after elections.

On infrastructure, he promised to focus on roads, electricity, water supply, and healthcare delivery, while also pushing for federal interventions to address long-standing gaps.

He also reiterated his commitment to attracting benefits from natural resources, recalling his advocacy for the 13 per cent derivation principle for Niger State.

APC State Chairman, Hon. Aminu Bobi, described Ndarani as a loyal party member and influential stakeholder, expressing confidence in his aspiration and support base within the party.

Ndarani’s declaration adds fresh momentum to the early political build-up ahead of the 2027 general elections in Niger State.
