Safety first this Sallah! The Federal Road Safety Corps in Gombe State has warned against underage driving, saying it’s a leading cause of accidents alongside speeding, overloading, and distracted driving.
Sector Commander Samson Kaura announced that special patrols are underway, with 620 personnel, 10 patrol vehicles, ambulances, and tow trucks deployed across major routes to enforce traffic rules. He urged parents to prevent children under 18 from driving and reminded all drivers to avoid phone use, speeding, and dangerous maneuvers.
“Only the living can celebrate,” Kaura said, stressing that safety takes priority over speed or profit. Drivers are advised to stay alert and follow rules to ensure smooth traffic during the festive period.
