EBONYI FANS BLAST CAF, URGE NIGERIA FOOTBALL REBUILD

Football fans in Ebonyi have slammed CAF’s decision to strip Senegal of the 2025 AFCON title, calling it controversial and questioning the body’s credibility.

Speaking to NAN, former sports officials and enthusiasts urged Nigerians to focus on domestic football reform instead of the Senegal-Morocco dispute. They stressed the urgency of addressing Nigeria’s failure to qualify for two consecutive World Cups and building a stronger football system for future tournaments.

Charles Akpu-Enika said CAF appears biased toward Morocco, while Chief Abel Okamkpa highlighted the need to strengthen Nigeria’s football structure ahead of 2030 qualifiers. Fans also called on the government to support the Super Eagles and restore Nigeria’s standing in African and global football.
