Heavy security presence rolls out as authorities move to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state.
The Nigeria Police Force has deployed over 500 personnel across Niger State to guarantee a smooth and secure Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
According to Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun, the Commissioner of Police, Adamu Elleman, has ordered intelligence-led policing and raids on blackspots to prevent any security breaches.
The operation, coordinated from Minna, includes deployment of tactical units such as the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Squad, and Explosive Ordnance teams, alongside patrol vehicles, gun trucks, and anti-riot equipment.
Authorities say the goal is clear: dominate public spaces, secure Eid grounds, and ensure free flow of traffic before, during, and after the festivities.
Residents have been urged to celebrate responsibly, with parents advised to keep a close watch on their wards. The command also warned that thuggery or any form of disorder will not be tolerated.
While extending Eid greetings, Elleman called on Muslims to uphold the values of peace, sacrifice, and tolerance, urging everyone to stay law-abiding throughout the celebration.
