ONDO LOCKDOWN FOR SALLAH: NSCDC DEPLOYS 1,000 PERSONNEL

Massive security rollout as authorities move to ensure peaceful Eid-el-Fitr and Easter celebrations.

Ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr festivities, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ondo State has rolled out 1,000 officers across the state to keep celebrations safe and hitch-free.

State Commandant, Oluyemi Ibiloye, said the deployment—announced in Akure—covers key hotspots including Eid prayer grounds, markets, motor parks, recreational centres, and critical national assets.

The operation isn’t just numbers—it’s strategy. Special units like the Agro Rangers, Armed Squad, Female Strike Force, Rapid Tactical Squad, Anti-Vandalism Team, and the CBRNE unit will be on ground, alongside counter-terrorism and disaster management teams.

Ibiloye also directed commanders to step up surveillance, intelligence sharing, and patrols, especially in flashpoints, in collaboration with other security agencies.

While urging officers to stay professional, vigilant, and law-abiding, he reminded them to respect citizens’ rights and strictly follow operational rules.

He also sent goodwill to Muslim faithful, calling on residents to remain peaceful, alert, and cooperative throughout the festive period.
