WOMEN URGED TO STRENGTHEN FAMILY BONDS, FOSTER SOCIETY

Muslim women called to be pillars of harmony at home and in the community.

Hajia Muheebah Yusuf, Coordinator of the Muslim Ladies Circle at the University of Ilorin, has highlighted the crucial role of women in building strong families and a harmonious society. Speaking at the Ramadan Lecture Series organised by the Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria, she said women, as mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters, are key to nurturing stable homes and guiding the next generation.

“An ideal Muslim woman should serve as a role model to her children, support her husband, and provide moral and religious guidance,” Yusuf said, urging women to also advocate for empowerment and break societal barriers.

Prof. Sidikat Ijaiya, former Deputy VC at the university, added that mutual respect, empathy, and fear of Allah are vital for peaceful marriages, while Prof. Saudat Abdulbaki called on women to contribute meaningfully to national development.
