Anambra strengthens leadership at key health institution.
Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo has appointed Dr Uche Umeakuewulu as the new Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital in Awka, effective March 13.
Dr Umeakuewulu, a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a focus on gynaecologic oncology and women’s health, succeeds Dr Joe Akabuike. She brings extensive experience from the National Hospital Abuja and is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, and the International College of Surgeons.
The appointment signals a new administrative phase aimed at enhancing clinical services and maternal healthcare at the state-owned tertiary hospital.
