40 motorists arraigned in Itori as FRSC ramps up road safety enforcement.
The Ogun State FRSC has arraigned 40 traffic offenders in a mobile court in Itori, targeting violations like speeding, overloading, seatbelt defaulters, and licence infractions.
FRSC PRO, Mr. Odunsi Afolabi, said the court, presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T. Odunsaya, convicted 20 motorists with fines for 39 offences, and no imprisonment was handed down. Critical safety violations were the main focus, including vehicle maintenance, tyre issues, and number plate irregularities.
Ogun Sector Commander, Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, stressed that mobile courts improve enforcement visibility and reinforce compliance to reduce road crashes. He praised the orderly proceedings, supported by armed personnel, and urged motorists to drive safely and keep proper documentation.
The FRSC said the exercise serves as a deterrent to reckless driving and highlights the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives on the state’s roads.
