The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with support from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has unveiled its timetable for the 2027 General Elections, scheduling the presidential primary for May 25.
Announced after the 106th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, the timetable also sets:
April 10 – submission of membership register
May 2 – State Assembly primaries
May 9 – National Assembly primaries
May 16 – Gubernatorial primaries
The NEC urged all party organs to prepare, comply with the schedule, and resolve disputes arising from primaries.
The communique praised the National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC) under Abdulrahman Mohammed for stabilising the party, noting the successful Ward and Local Government Congresses and the upcoming State and Zonal Congresses.
The PDP also highlighted recent Court of Appeal rulings affirming NCWC leadership, calling for unity, reconciliation, and avoidance of further litigation to strengthen the party ahead of the National Convention on March 29–30, where a new National Working Committee will be elected.
The NEC announced plans to expand electronic membership registration to boost grassroots participation, transparency, and efficiency. The party reaffirmed its commitment to democratic principles, national unity, and good governance.
