TURKEY: IRAN DENIES ROCKETS ENTERING TURKISH AIRSPACE

Turkey says Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has denied that two rockets that recently entered Turkish airspace were fired from Iran. The claim came during a phone call with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who said the issue would be thoroughly investigated.

NATO’s air defense systems intercepted the missiles, and debris fell in open areas near the southern cities of Gaziantep and Hatay, close to the Syrian border. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The incidents follow a previous missile interception by NATO near the Iran-Turkey border. Erdoğan used the call to condemn both Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran, while also urging Tehran to stop attacks targeting neighboring countries, stressing that such actions “benefit no one.”

The Turkish government emphasized vigilance over its airspace amid ongoing regional tensions, highlighting the challenges NATO faces in securing borders in a volatile Middle East.
