The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has ordered a hybrid payment system at all Nigerian airport access gates starting Friday. The move allows both cash and card payments, following the suspension of the fully cashless system due to traffic gridlocks.
Keyamo said motorists with FAAN Go Cashless Cards can continue using them, while other electronic options like POS terminals will remain available. He urged travelers to obtain the card as the ministry works toward a fully automated, cashless system in the future.
“This hybrid system restores convenience while we optimize automation at our airports,” the minister stated.
