SAN URGES STRONGER POLICIES TO EMPOWER WOMEN IN LEGAL PROFESSION

Marking International Women’s Day, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Usman Sule has called for stronger support systems, deliberate policies, and institutional reforms to advance women in the legal profession and across society.

In a goodwill message, Sule praised the resilience and excellence of women, especially female lawyers who continue to break barriers and contribute to justice, governance, and national development.

He noted that despite the challenges of balancing professional and societal expectations, women in law have distinguished themselves through dedication, integrity, and competence.

“Female lawyers continue to uphold justice and inspire younger generations to pursue careers in law,” Sule said, urging governments, institutions, and professional bodies to expand opportunities and empower women through inclusive policies.

The senior lawyer also highlighted women making strides in sectors like sports, business, governance, and humanitarian work, stressing that the push for gender equality must go beyond annual celebrations.

He encouraged young women to stay focused and determined in pursuing their ambitions, noting that perseverance and excellence remain key to overcoming systemic barriers.
