Preparations for the 2026 Hajj are already underway as the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board inspects accommodation facilities in Makkah for intending pilgrims from the state.
Director-General of the board, Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, said the inspection is part of early efforts to ensure pilgrims enjoy safe, comfortable, and well-organised lodging during the pilgrimage. The move also aims to confirm that essential services and logistics are in place before the airlift begins.
The board stressed the need for strict compliance with agreed standards and timely completion of arrangements to guarantee a smooth and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for Kano pilgrims. Officials say monitoring will continue to ensure optimal welfare and service delivery throughout the pilgrimage.
