As the world marks International Women’s Day 2026, veteran broadcaster Moji Makanjuola is calling on women everywhere to support and uplift one another for lasting progress.
In a goodwill message to commemorate the global celebration on March 8, Makanjuola — Founder and Executive Director of the International Society of Media in Public Health — encouraged women to embrace the theme “Give to Gain.”
According to her, real progress happens when women share opportunities, support one another, and work collectively to grow.
“There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise,” she said, urging women to use their strength, wisdom and compassion to build a better society.
The former President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) noted that when women empower others, the result is a stronger, more inclusive future for everyone.
International Women’s Day, celebrated worldwide every March 8, recognises the achievements of women and highlights the ongoing push for gender equality, women’s rights and social inclusion.
